Comprehensive Pediatric Dental Care, Guided by Prevention
At Tooth Town Pediatric Dentistry, our preference is prevention. When kids stay healthy, dental visits stay simpler, confidence grows, and families feel good about the path they’re on.
We provide comprehensive pediatric dental care for children from infancy through adolescence, with a focus on prevention, comfort, and clear communication. When treatment is needed, we guide parents through options thoughtfully and help determine what makes the most sense for their child.
Our Approach to Care
Every child is different. Some need extra reassurance. Some need more structure. Some need additional planning. Our care adapts to the child, while keeping parents fully informed and involved.
From routine visits to more involved treatment, our goal is to support your child’s oral health journey from start to finish. When care needs extend beyond our office, we coordinate referrals to trusted specialists and help families understand next steps so no one feels unsure or unsupported.
Prevention & Routine Care
Prevention is the foundation of everything we do. Regular visits help us monitor growth, guide healthy habits, and catch concerns early.
Preventive and routine services include:
Dental exams
Professional cleanings
Digital X-rays
Fluoride treatments
Dental sealants
These visits are designed to be calm, predictable, and confidence-building for both kids and parents.
Restorative Care
When treatment is needed, we take the time to explain what we’re seeing and help parents understand available options. Our focus is on restoring health while keeping children as comfortable as possible.
Restoration services include:
Fillings
Crowns
Root canals on primary (baby) teeth
Extractions
We believe parents should feel informed, not rushed. Conversations come first, and treatment decisions are made together.
Sedation & Comfort Options
Some children benefit from additional support to feel comfortable during care. We offer options that help reduce anxiety and make visits more manageable when appropriate.
Sedation Options Include:
Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)
Oral sedation
Behavior guidance and support techniques
We’ll help determine whether these options are appropriate for your child and explain everything clearly before any decisions are made.
Behavior Guidance & Individualized Support
Pediatric dentistry isn’t one-size-fits-all. We use behavior guidance techniques tailored to each child’s needs, personality, and comfort level.
For children who benefit from additional planning or support, we offer individualized care approaches that prioritize communication, structure, and preparation. Parents are always included in these conversations so expectations are clear from the beginning.
A Note for Parents
Rather than listing every detail online, we believe the best way to understand your child’s care is through a conversation. Talking with us allows us to guide your child’s path intentionally, answer questions in real time, and help determine the best next steps.
Call and talk it through with us. We’re happy to help!
When should I start taking my child to the dentist?
We recommend a first visit by your child’s first birthday or when the first tooth appears. Early visits help us guide healthy habits and make dental care feel normal from the beginning.
How old are the kids you see?
We care for children from infancy through adolescence. Whether you’re bringing in a baby, a busy preschooler, or a growing teen, we tailor care to their stage and needs.
How often should my child go to the dentist?
On average, every six months. Consistent visits allow us to monitor growth, prevent cavities, and keep small concerns from becoming bigger ones.
How long will our first visit be?
Plan for about 30 to 60 minutes. We take our time getting to know your child, answering your questions, and making sure everyone feels comfortable.
How do I care for my baby’s teeth?
Start cleaning as soon as the first tooth appears. Use a soft infant toothbrush and a tiny smear of fluoride toothpaste, about the size of a grain of rice. We’ll show you exactly how much to use and how to make brushing easier at home.
Do you offer oral sedation?
Yes. We offer oral sedation as well as nitrous oxide when appropriate. If your child may benefit from additional support, we’ll walk through the options clearly and help you decide what feels right.
Where are you located?
We are conveniently located in South Lyon at 26018 Pontiac Trail, making it easy for local families to access care close to home.
